The McHenry County Youth Sports Association is home of international baseball games and host of the Summer International Championships. During its first year, 18 teams participated in the tournament, including three local host teams. After the first tournament, the Greater Crystal Lake World Series Association (GCLWSA) was formed and would oversee many of the events for the oncoming years. By 1995, Crystal Lake had become an internationally known destination for youth baseball.
